COTTON USA Hosts Star-Studded “Love My Cotton” Campaign Launch in Beijing
COTTON USA launched its "Love My Cotton" promotional campaign at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) in Beijing’s renowned 798 Art District, commencing regional promotion of the campaign in China.
“Through fun yet meaningful promotional activities, we hope to connect with the Chinese public in a deeply emotional way,” Cotton Council International (CCI) China and Northeast Asia Director Karin Malmstrom said. “The four models in our series of 'I Love My Cotton' advertisements draw attention to how people interact with and build relationships with their cotton clothing.”
The star-studded launch ceremony included influential attendees such as: Mr. Phil Shull, Minister Counselor of Agricultural Affairs at the U.S. Embassy; Madam Gao Fang, Executive Vice Chairperson of China Cotton Association; Mr. Wang Dongxiao, Director of Textile Department at China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles; Ms. Wu Yongqian, Vice Secretary General of China Home Textile Association; Dr. Gary Adams, President and CEO, National Cotton Council (NCC); and Ms. Karin Malmstrom, Director, Cotton Council International (CCI), China and Northeast Asia. Representatives and journalists from 45 trade, social and consumer media outlets also attended the event.
Popular radio presenter Yu Zhou, leading fashion photographer Yin Chao, fashionista Da Cai and fabric designer Yang Bei all shared their passion for cotton from different perspectives. The animated discussions highlighted how cotton is an indispensable part of life.
“Cotton is a much-loved fabric,” Yang Bei said. “Pure cotton clothing is not affected by static electricity and pilling, and, as a natural fiber, it's the perfect choice for the environment.”
Photographer Yin Chao noted, “Good quality cotton clothing is smooth and comfortable to wear; it's a very relaxing material.” He added, “From a professional perspective, it's a great fabric for catching the subtleties of human movements and emotions.”
