COTTON USA Hosts Fifth U.S. Yarn Trip for Chinese Buyers
Following the success of three previous U.S. yarn trips to Asia, COTTON USA will host a fifth event next week in Qingdao, China, during which 23 Chinese buyers will meet three U.S. cotton yarn mills, attend a seminar and hold introductory meetings. The U.S. mills will also tour COTTON USA licensee facilities.
COTTON USA held the first U.S. yarn trip in Shanghai in October 2012 and the second in October 2013. Following these successful trips, Chinese buyers of U.S. cotton-rich yarns joined a COTTON USA event in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam in November 2013.
With ever-changing global sourcing patterns, and recognizing the need to learn about new opportunities, each of these efforts has enjoyed and continues to garner the support of CCI, Cotton Incorporated and various Chinese textile and provincial entities.
As the result of previous U.S. yarn mill trips to China, buyers purchased the equivalent of 9,610 bales of U.S. cotton fiber from U.S. spinners.
